The official ceremony of awarding the doctoral degree in economics of Osaka University to Sardor Tadjiev took place in the UzAuto building on May 19, 2021.
The event was attended JICA, JICE and Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the professor of Osaka University.
As part of the program, a webinar was held on the research topic by Sardor Tadjiev – Policymaking in the Automotive Industry – for students as well as former graduates of the JDS program, and colleagues.Sardor Tadjiev is a participant of the JDS scholarship project, in 2011 he got his MBA degree from International University of Japan. In 2018 he entered the Graduate school of Economics at Osaka University in Japan to pursue PhD degree. In 2020, he was appointed vice-chairman of the board of Uzavtosanoat JSC for sales development and marketing.

The educational institution is recognized as one of the best universities in terms of the quality of education and is included in the top-100 in the world ranking for this criterion.
The Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship by Japanese Grant Aid(JDS) was launched by the government of Uzbekistan with assistance of the Government of Japan in 1999.
The objective of the JDS Project is to provide Uzbek citizens with opportunity for obtaining master’s and doctorate degree at the Japanese Universities in order to support human resource development policy of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and eventually to extend and strengthen the bilateral relationships between the Republic of Uzbekistan and Japan. The target groups of the JDS Project are young public officials and municipal servants who are expected to play leadership roles in the development of the Republic of Uzbekistan. More than 75 target organizations representing the public sector participate in the JDS Project. Every year in the framework of the project on a competitive basis by the selection of 19 (Master and Doctorate) young and talented employees of public institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Until now 360 citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan have been dispatched to undertake diverse Master and Doctoral degree programs in universities of Japan. Graduates of JDS will play an important role in the current socio-economic development of Uzbekistan. Many JDS graduates have been appointed to higher positions in ministries, government agencies and the banking system.
