Performance review meeting with the participation...
A ceremonial event was held to mark the conclusion of Bo Andersson’s tenure as General Director of JSC “UzAuto Motors” and JSC “UzAuto Motors Powertrain,” positions he held for the past three years. Bo Andersson, an internationally recognized expert in the automotive industry, was commended for his contributions and achievements in advancing Uzbekistan’s automotive sector.
As highlighted during the event, under Bo Andersson’s leadership, production performance significantly improved. The production volume of passenger cars at JSC “UzAuto Motors” plants in the Andijan and Khorezm regions increased, product quality improved, and the range of models expanded.
The year 2023 became one of the most notable in the company’s history, with 395,400 vehicles rolling off the assembly line—a 20% increase compared to the previous year. It is anticipated that production figures for the current year will be on par with or exceed last year’s results.
Thanks to the dedicated efforts of the company’s team, the automotive industry of New Uzbekistan has, over the past three years, emerged as a leader in passenger car production among CIS and Central Asian countries. Additionally, the Chevrolet brand ranked second globally in market volume.
One of the most significant achievements in recent years was the mass production of two new popular models—the Chevrolet Tracker (crossover) and Chevrolet Onix (sedan). The company’s transition to GM’s modern GEM (Global Emerging Markets) platform facilitated these successes.
It is noteworthy that in Uzbekistan, vehicle production follows a full-cycle process, encompassing stamping, welding, painting, and assembly. All engines are manufactured at the JSC “UzAuto Motors Powertrain” plant in Tashkent. Currently, the localization level of automotive production in Uzbekistan exceeds 50%, achieved through substantial domestic production of components.
— “All the achievements of the past 3.5 years are the result of the hard work of our entire team: engineers, managers, supervisors, and most importantly, our workers. I firmly believe that the foundation of any company is its people. Among the key achievements of recent years, I am particularly pleased to note the introduction of an accurate and fair KPI system that allows all employees to be rewarded based on their successes and results,” noted Bo Andersson.
In conclusion, it was emphasized that JSC “UzAuto Motors” is a key driver of real economic growth in New Uzbekistan, with significant potential and global recognition in the automotive industry.
