Uzbek publications published material about the positive dynamics of electric vehicle sales volumes in Uzbekistan. "UzAutoSanoat" is grateful to them for their participation in the discussion of existing problems and recognizes that at the moment, despite the constant increase in production volumes, one of the structural units of "UzAuto Motors" does not cover the entire demand for cars in the country.
In the period of active growth of the republic's economy it is natural that there is a high demand for the products of the domestic automobile industry, the level of which is not comparable to the indicators of 6 years ago. Now, as never before, the market has become attractive for competitive automobile brands, which is what we observe these days.
"Uzavtosanoat" is constantly studying all existing trends in the world and is actively searching for opportunities to involve the country in the process of global technological progress. It is in our interests to increase the share of modern and environmentally relevant car fleet in Uzbekistan.
Thus, in May this year, Uzavtosanoat together with BYD Company Ltd. started construction of BYD Uzbekistan Factory, a plant for production of electric cars in Uzbekistan.
And, as statistics shows, it is very timely, because out of more than 5,400 units of electric cars imported to Uzbekistan this year, 3,255 units were supplied by BYD Factory Uzbekistan, a structural subdivision of Uzavtosanoat, as part of a program to study the local market.
"Uzavtosanoat" remains committed to building a constructive dialogue and reports that increasing the share of environmentally friendly vehicles in Uzbekistan, liberalization of the market, as well as the emergence of new players in the country's car market are also in the interests of the company. This will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the development of competitiveness of cars in the domestic market and will create all conditions to stimulate the development of automakers.
